Anambra Women United (AWU) is a non-profit 501C (3) organization founded in the year 2003. AWU was formed out of a great need and burning desire to contribute to the well-being of humanity by focusing on disadvantaged women and children; who form one of the most vulnerable groups. Past studies have concluded that lifting a woman out of precarious and poor conditions will in turn lift the whole family and consequently the society.

Humanitarian Accomplishments (Latest Projects)
St Jude Donation – On October 10th, 2023, Anambra Women United donated $5,000 to St. Jude to support their mission against childhood diseases. – Learn More…
Breast Cancer Awareness – On July 29th, 2023, Anambra Women United hosted a breast cancer awareness booth at a community event in Jackson Park, Illinois.
School Supply Donation – On July 29th, 2023, Anambra Women United undertook a commendable initiative by distributing over 400 bags of school supplies to children preparing to return to school.
Microfinance Program – On November 25, 2023, Anambra Women United, in partnership with the Anambra State Ministry of Women and Social Welfare, hosted a focused one-day business workshop.
